MANDYVILLE
What is Mandyville?
I’ve used my Blogger account here exclusively to record my exploits as a tourist.I’ve had other blogs before where the daily emotional diatribe unravelled until such time I matured, looked back, felt shame, guilt or else I just shook my head and hit - DELETE.
This time around, with Mandyville, it’s a bit different.
Mandyville exists as that television star land where TV actors go to die or are written out of plots.
This where fact and fiction collide and it’s in this space I can have some fun with creative writing.
Mostly it’s about about characters and their nuances, their special traits and most importantly is how they stand out from the background as fully formed individuals orbiting the same space as I do.

Here in Mandyville the blogging subject is mostly about my first person accounts as a tourist abroad.
For blogging and the purposeful need to write, this type of blogging feels somewhat more purposeful than just a daily ramble.
So far the post-holiday essays seem to fill the void nicely.
They also help to fill the time between now and the next big trip.
There’s this idea that I have, that I’m reporting back on what I’ve experienced ‘there’.
Again I think this type of writing is better than a daily blog, because my time spent abroad has been the stuff of memories, and of course I'm going to want to document that.
So I suppose Mandyville serves as somewhat a placeholder for the more definitive moments in my life, only those experiences are shared with others abroad.

Playing with others involves some creative writing and an artistic license to be sure.
While setting out to write a blog based on my last trip I usually tend to plan things out with a reoccurring theme.
And so far that’s been fun for me.
Up until now the post holiday writing has evolved to a discipline where the construction has become almost book like.
As a novel arrangement every holiday recorded in post-holiday mode serves as some form of self-evaluation contained captured within a bubble of tourist journalism.

And that’s what I suppose makes the blog seemingly different to the other blogs I’ve recorded.
Or else this is the long way around in that I'm producing the same self loathing content but under a more managed theme.
